Reporting Relationship: Youth and Family Program Coordinator
Hours: 2 hour shifts available Tue-Thu, August 16-18
Position Summary: MVCC Back to School Backpack Giveaway is an opportunity for volunteers to get out in the community to distribute free backpacks and school supplies to students in the FME area. Volunteers in this position will work at the community center to prepare all supplies for distribution.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand and support the vision, mission, and culture of MVCC
- Maintain courteous and professional communication to participants
- Follow all safety procedures and policies
- Respond to MVCC Team Supervisor’s phone calls, emails, or texts within 24 hours
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist YFP Coordinator in moving bins of backpacks and school supplies into MVCC's main room from the downstairs storage room
- Work with other volunteers to sort, organize, and prepare backpacks for distribution
- Stage all supplies into site locations for pick up on event day
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Complete MVCC volunteer training
- Ability to lift 20lbs.
