Hours: 20 hours for one week session; 8:30am-12:30pm daily; must be able to commit to entire week
Position Summary: MVCC Summer Camp is an opportunity for children going into grades K-5 to connect and learn in a fun environment. Counselors will play an important role in providing campers with social and educational experiences through daily activities involving art, STEM, fitness, outdoor exploration, and citizenship. A $100 stipend or required school volunteer hours verification will be given to every counselor for each volunteer week completed.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand and support the vision, mission, and culture of MVCC
- Maintain courteous and professional communication to participants
- Complete mandatory summer camp volunteer training
- Follow all safety procedures and policies
- Respond to MVCC Team Supervisor’s phone calls, emails, or texts within 24 hours
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise a group of 5-10 campers daily
- Assist activity coordinators in successful running of each station
- Encourage a positive, fun camp experience for everyone
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Must be at least 14 years of age
- Must pass WA State background check
- Attend required MVCC volunteer training
